The DHARMA project is a coordinated project including two high-level research groups from two different Universities (Universidad Politécnica de Madrid -Technical University of Madrid, in English- and University of Murcia) with complementary knowledge and expertise in the topics that need to be put together to make the design and first deployment of the project objectives a success.

University of Murcia (UMU)
The UMU-GSIT research group (Grupo de Sistemas Inteligentes y Telemática -Intelligent Systems and Telematics Research Group, in English-) of the University of Murcia, where the researchers taking part in this proposal are collaborating, is working on security and network and service management since 1997. It is composed by a big number of professors and researchers, being more than a half of them working on these topics. This research group have been receiving several recognitions in the last few years, being currently holder of the distinction of Research Group of Excellence (with code 04552/GERM/06) by the Séneca Foundation (the science and technology official agency in the Murcia Region) for the period 2008-2012. It is also the research group ranked in the first position for the last few years in the internal ranking of research groups of the University of Murcia.

Universidad Politécnica de Madrid (UPM)
The RSTI-UPM research group where the researchers signing this proposal work (named Redes y Servicios de Telecomunicación e Internet, integrated in DIT-UPM, the Departamento de Ingeniería de Sistemas Telemáticos of the Universidad Politécnica de Madrid) has a long and extensive experience in integrated management and security in networks, systems, services and applications. The group research line in this area began in 1988, just when the research activities in this area begun worldwide. This fact has allowed the group to contribute to the development of the area from the very early stages. At present the research group consists of 5 full professors and 7 associate professors, as well as about 10 PhD students and a similar number undergraduate students carrying out their Master Final Thesis collaborating with the group.
